CRYSTONIA!
The amazing inside story, secrets behind
The Crystal Legacy!

Important fantasy artist's work goes here!
The Internet opens a new door to mankind.

The door has barely cracked open when the light of man's blazing progress, melds into a new spiral within the ever changing cycle of life.

Gaining speed this new media, rooted in the traditional printing business takes on a fresh existence. Electronic publishing "E-PUB" and a bold company, one of the very first e-book publishers, New Concepts Publishing (NCP) emerge.

But wait! What of traditional authors? How are they affected???

Some remain stuck in the past. Yet a few adapt. They seize the opportunity. How fitting that two authors, kindred spirits, should meet via a home page/ e-mail encounter and medieval chat, then go on to use this exiting new medium, to co-author this lovable series.
(Yes, they met on the Internet. You will see from the results, that can bring fantastic combinations!)

The first book of an exciting new series, Crystal Legacy: Heart of the Myst
, quickly grabs the reader, drawing them into a magical romance, complete with a child's cry, a mother's scream, an impossible quest and the perpetual struggle between good and evil set in the turmoil of a medieval-like milieu.

Wrapped in mystery, an infant dies in unspeakable horror, yet somehow, the spiral of life and magic continues. These authors, a man and a woman, combine hard lessons of life, gambling with less predictable interactive Internet chat sessions to spontaneously test the opposing parts of Lady Aurora, Sir Corius and Nuphar.

Who is he? The Queen's own knight sent to find the sereph, the next Angel of the light.

Who is she? A lady. A strong woman who possesses all the qualities of a seraph, yet seemingly harbors too many secrets.

STOP! Even before she can overcome destiny, or use ingrained magical powers to rejuvenate the cerulean crystal, source of all that is good and righteous, she must learn and grow. Who will teach her? How will she learn? Is she the one? Unspeakable terrors rage against the Knight and plague the Lady as they seek to accomplish the impossible.

Ratchet by painful ratchet, tied and stretched on an evil torture rack, the truth unfolds. Male and female roles tempt, conflict and challenge. A child’s death and an innocent play key roles. Embedded with adventure, romance, suspense and magic, this book is more than a must read. "Heart of the Myst", fated to be a new age classic with something from time for all.

But don't believe us. We always say, Ask someone who has read it.

Here is what tough conservative critics say:

(Informal note - name witheld)
"In all complete honesty that this is one of the best books I've ever read. And, no, I am not just being kind. You have no idea how this affected me. I couldn't believe it. For years, I've favored Insomnia by Stephen King...along with Of Mice and Men by Steinbeck and a few others. Now, Heart of the Myst is beside them. Ok...it's a little ahead of Insomnia:-)

I didn't just cry, I bawled. I DO NOT cry when I read. It just doesn't happen. A few years ago, I got teary eyed during a scene in Victoria Alexander's book. But actually crying??? When everyone else went to tears for Braveheart and Titanic, I didn't. I couldn't. That's not how I am. You know that movie Sommersby? That one CAN get to me, but it's rare. So, when I found myself unable to stop the tears (running nose and all--I'm sure you didn't need to know that), I knew I'd found a treasure in Heart of the Myst.

Nuphar is the most awful character I've ever met. The evil were so perfectly evil and the good were so wonderfully good. Every word painted a picture. That scene where the twin funnels of good and evil fight for Aurora (where she's lifted from the ground, her arms outstretched) would be an awesome cover.

The moment that Aurora leapt in front of Eryn killed me. And then Maija's death. My God, I felt like everyone I knew was dying!!! The King and Malard. And when Aurora was okay...I was still so overwhelmed I couldn't pull myself together. It was as if this world truly existed somewhere.

At that moment, I got a phone call. It was my brother in law, but I couldn't compose myself enough to make sense. He's trying to figure out what the heck would have someone like me so upset...and (this is embarrassing) I started rambling on about Aurora being stabbed and the unfairness of it all!. Finally, I realize what an idiot I must sound like and calmed.

He realizes it's just a book and says, "How can it do that to you? You write that sh*t." I said, "Are you kidding me? If I wrote like this, I'd never have to buy another book for the rest of my life!"

It took a day of constantly reminding myself that "it's just a book", until I was semi-normal again. I have to tell you, this has been the weirdest experience for me! It took 2 days to read, and during the night in between, I dreamed about Crystonia! Geez...I was beginning to think someone put a spell on me:-) I scared the begeezus out of the dog when Aurora said that Nuphar was her mother. And my husband finally had to demand that I stop talking about the story.

And here is another:

Crystal Legacy: Heart of the Myst
I really enjoyed "Heart of the Myst" - I read it twice. I could hardly put the book down. The prolog was fantastic - quite shocking. After the prolog the reader is hooked. Many questions went through my mind and I needed to find out the answers, I couldn't stop reading. "Why would a baby be sacrificed?"

Normally, love stories irritate me, but I have to say, the love story between Aurora and Corius was excellent. I was cheering for them the whole way. You painted a lovely picture of the complexity of true love: companionship, passion, tenderness, teasing, concern, willingness to sacrifice, respect, etc... I enjoyed watching their love develop and deepen.

Female readers will enjoy the fact that Corius was a hero and a man, yet treated Aurora as an equal - even in martial arts. Very different from the "man saves the fainting beauty" so typical in romantic novels. Thank you for creating women as strong characters.

My favorite action scene was when the gang were congregating at Lord Grafton's castle. Terrific action scenery, imaginative happenings. Suspense in getting Corius team to the castle. Humor in finding that Aurora saved the day without the help of the macho men. Nuphar was frightening!

And here is one more!

When the rapture on your face causes people to ask what you're reading, you know it's a damn good book. Crystal Legacy: Heart of the Myst is one of the most all-consuming, brilliantly written novels ever to touch your heart.

With the King dying and the Queen's powers dwindling, Corius, the first night has been sent to find the seraph, the one who can heal the King, defeat Moloch, and return the crystal's powers to full strength. But first, Corius must discover who the seraph is and train her to defeat all that might get in her way, whether it be man, magic, or her own ghosts. Aurora's journey, both physical and spiritual, unravels in a story that delivers you into a realm so overwhelmingly real you can touch the mists, feel the rugged terrain beneath your feet, and hear the incantations. Nuphar, Moloch's unwavering evil servant, will chill you to the core in every scene she taints with her presence. Likewise, and written with an equal passion, Corius and Aurora's journey together will warm you throughout.

The plot is flawless. Just as you relax your guard, another unexpected and well thought out turn takes you by surprise. Pieces come together, page by page, as the mystery of the seraph, the legend, and Aurora's destiny unfolds.

Every element is masterfully pulled together by the writing team of Hart and Middleton. Their voice and talent for manipulating and evoking a reader's emotions are unparalleled, guaranteed to bring you to laughter and tears again and again. Crystal Legacy: Heart of the Myst is a treasure within itself. You HAVE to enter this book into the EPPIES!
(We did - Its now a finalist!)
